Between Two Worlds is a captivating classical album released in 2012, featuring the soprano and alto saxophone of Massimo Giacchetti alongside the organ of Manuela Di Marco. The duo, both graduates of the Pescara Conservatory, delivers stunning performances of original works by contemporary and 20th-century composers, blending the complementary timbres of saxophone and pipe organ in a dynamic interplay that bridges diverse
musical expressions. Recorded in the Chiesa di Sant Alessandro in Barzio, Italy, the album showcases Giacchetti's clear, athletic and characterful playing, complemented by Di Marco's discreet yet piquant organ contributions, evoking a sense of shared enthusiasm and spontaneity throughout.
Rooted in the classical music tradition with a contemporary edge, the recording presents accessible yet sophisticated pieces that range from bouncy and humorous to rhapsodic and reflective, highlighting the performers' technical prowess and interpretive depth. Composers such as the Italian Giorgio Paris and Italo Di Cioccio contribute utterly accessible modern works, while influences from Belgian, Austrian, French and Québécois creators add international flavor, resulting in a
treasure trove of fresh, engaging music that feels both innovative and timeless. This Dynamic label release stands out for its high-quality execution and infectious charm.
