Hij verliet Amerika als student die zich toelegde op countryblues en ragtime, maar toen hij in London aankwam, werden zijn boeken over historische bluestechnieken al in Europa, Japan en Australië bestudeerd. Guitar Landscapes is een gevarieerde collectie met blues, jazz, country en folk. Oorspronkelijk verschenen in 1990 op Shanachie Records.
